Ken Clarke U20 Women’s National Cup – Semi Final 💙

Templeogue 50
A heartbreaking end to a special National Cup run for our U20 women, who came up just short after a tough, intense semi-final that went right to the wire.
The girls set the tone early and led for long spells, defending with real grit and playing with the composure that has defined this group over the past two seasons. Templeogue stayed in touch throughout and edged ahead late, but this was a game decided on the finest of margins.
We’re incredibly proud of how this group represented Tralee Magic. They have worn the jersey with pride and professionalism, setting standards. I'm not sure they fully realise this but they’ve raised the bar for what’s possible within our women’s programme. Their impact goes well beyond results — these girls have inspired the players coming up behind them, showing our younger teams what commitment, resilience and team-first basketball really look like.
A huge thank you to the supporters who travelled on the day and brought the noise from the sidelines. Special mention to our U12 girls, who were there in force to support their coach Emily — a brilliant example of the connection between teams and the pathway being built within the club.
While their reign as National Cup champions comes to an end, this is very much not the end of this team. Many of the squad will be back again next year, and they continue their journey with the Warriors BIDL team under the guidance of Tralee Magic’s long-serving women’s coach, Tomás O’Hanlon.
As recognition of what this group has achieved, Tralee Mayor Terry O’Brien has invited the Tralee Magic U20 Women’s team to a Presentation of Certificates of Recognition at the County Buildings on Monday, 12th January — a fitting acknowledgement of a group that has given so much to the club.
Proud of the effort. Proud of the journey. Proud of the girls.
