Tralee Magic U12 girls came away from St. Brendan’s with a well-earned 21–14 win in a game that highlighted both their teamwork and growing confidence.

The opening quarter was lively, with St. Brendan’s making the most of home advantage early on. Magic responded well, settling into the game and edging the period 6–4, built on good defensive effort and composed play.

The second quarter was tight and physical, with scores harder to come by. Both teams defended strongly, but Magic stayed patient and worked for good shots, just shading the quarter 3–2 to take a narrow lead into the break.

Magic produced their strongest spell in the third quarter. The ball movement improved, the girls attacked with confidence and backed it up with excellent team defence, winning the period 9–2 and giving themselves some breathing room.

St. Brendan’s showed real determination in the final quarter, pushing hard right to the buzzer. Magic matched that intensity, stayed calm under pressure and closed the game out 5–4, seeing out the win together.

This was a true whole-team performance, with contributions throughout the game from Clara, Amilia, Eabha, Lauren, Orla, Robyn, Ailbhe, Alice, Hope, Lis, Maeve, Georgina, Jessica and Emily, each playing their part in a strong all-round display.

Huge credit to Olivia and Ann for the continued development of this group — the teamwork, confidence and spread of skills on show were a clear reflection of the work being done on the training floor.
